It is important, to any researcher (beginner or experienced), to know about the philosophical backgrounds which underpin his own research. When mastering these theoretical assumptions, s/he can successfully control the steps of his/her research. By knowing the philosophical and epistemological tendencies in his inquiry, the researcher can easily decide upon the general methodology of his research and its relevant methods (approaches or strategies) and tools.

This course is designed for Master level English learners to provide  them the knowledge of how to conduct research in educational settings and collect the  necessary information. Specifically, the course seeks to enable all learners to be skilled in the processing of research, formulating the research problem, conceptualizing a research design, constructing on instrument for collecting the data, writing a research proposal, processing the data, and writing a research report.
